Elsie’s Kitchen history can be traced back to the 1950s when the Ang Family began managing the F&B outlets in the British Royal Air Force camps at Seletar, Tengah, and Changi.
The business came to a halt when the British army withdrew from Singapore. In order to continue providing quality food and creating memorable experiences for its clientele, Elsie’s Kitchen subsequently evolved from a simple cafeteria and canteen to a major contributor in the catering sector in Singapore.
Elsie’s Kitchen registered as a Halal-certified caterer in 1999. We were one of the first few caterers to be awarded Halal-certification by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS).
In order to continue to meet the market’s demands, Elsie’s Kitchen acquired Continental Delight Catering Services in 2013. The operations were shifted to 21 Second Chin Bee Road, boasting a 57,000 sq ft facilities with 3 levels of warehouse storage.
The Organisation went through an extensive re-branding exercise. The list of F&B establishments under its brand portfolio were subsequently grouped under a holding company called Hesed & Emet Holdings Pte Ltd.
At the same time, with the support from Spring Singapore and various government initiatives, semi-automated equipment were installed in our central kitchen. The introduction of these automation machineries have increased our efficiency and productivity by at least 30%.
Elsie’s Kitchen and its sister brands were awarded with various government contracts. We were also proud to be the caterer for 28th SEA Games 2015 and the National Day Parade (NDP), in celebration of Singapore’s 50 years of independence.
Hesed & Emet, the parent company of Elsie’s Kitchen launched it’s social arm – The Hesed Table. The initiative hopes to address food-related issues by solving food wastage and providing meals for migrant workers and low income households.
Our clients range from members of the healthcare industry and education sector to military and government industries, catering over 20,000 meals daily on average.
